Waterfront Film Festival
"What did you see at Waterfront that you really loved? I was lucky to see several films and sit in all the seminars meeting some very interesting actors, producers, writers, and directors. Trying to fit in all that is possible, I'm still working out a 12 hour sleep deficit! I really enjoyed myself this year.I had a few favorites from the weekend. I sat on the edge of my seat watching Stephen Baldwin in Midnight Clear as his character spiraled deeper into desperation hoping he wouldn't harm and watching as connections of other characters where made to each other. My eyes were full of tears during Memories of Tomorrow, a tear drop running down my cheek every ten minutes as I watched a young businessman fall to Alzheimers his life devoted to his work, his remaining life now frustrating and wasted in a shrinking mind. I laughed quite a bit with, What's Wrong with DeeDee. This a very lighthearted film of miscommunication and good deeds. It's also produced by a Michig ... "

Waterfront Film Festival
"I mean, really meet them. If you'd like an opportunity to chat one on one, listen to advice, a career story, or how you can do more with film in Michigan, Waterfront's seminars are the place to be. There you'll be able to talk to actors, producers, writers, directors, etc. after the panel is over. Sometimes I even learn about films that I normally would have never picked and am always delighted.Seminars cost the same as a film, tickets available at the venue or box office. Here's more info: "

"So you came to Saugatuck for the festival but need some help figuring it all out.. where is the box office anyway?!The box office is located on the corner of Water and Main streets - but the HUB featuring movie trailers, party information, ticket sales, computer access, film stars and more is located this year at the White House Bistro and Lounge - on the corner of Griffith and Mason streets.HUB open every festival day from 8:30am - 5:00pmI recommend getting your tickets and lodging as far ahead in advance though.www.waterfrontfilm.orgw ww.saugatuck.com "

"What's the next best thing than the films at a Waterfront?a.meeting people in line for a film,b.catching a glimpse of or a conversation with a famous actor, writer, or upcoming producer,c.hearing nationally renown musicians perform,d.the parties,e.morning coffee at Uncommon Grounds,f.late night indepth conversations with old and new friends, org.having to lift your feet at the boat shed venue due to flooding so you can enjoy the rest of your film safely (that only happened the first couple of years :).That's right, "d" the parties - though this list carries all my favorites of the festival!OPENING NIGHTThe opening party will be Thursday night, June 7th. Plan on a casual happy hour party on the lawn of the Singapore Yacht Club between Coral Gables and The Butler restaurants.. This park is off Water Street, down the street and up river from where they used to hold it.There will be beer and wine available and one of the local restaurants will likely be selling dogs or s't ... How to 'Waterfront'

Waterfront Film Festival
"Waterfront is one of the most laid back film festivals that I've attended, making to easy to hit everything and participate in all you can by not rushing around so much. I really enjoy this festival and helping others enjoy western Michigan. Below I offer some tidbits on getting around the festival. I'd love to hear how you've done Waterfront in the past.PASSESWaterfront offers incredibly reasonable passes for the day, a weekend, and a weekend plus private party passes. I typically go the volunteer route as you get great perks and also get to 'give back' to the festival. To volunteer, go to www.waterfrontfilm.org and sign up providing the day (or days) you'd like to work. There are various perks depending on how much you volunteer. All involve getting a t-shirt :)Pass info: ****All passes give you priority seating if you show up 15 to 20 minutes prior to the film****Day pass - gets you into all/any movies for one day. GR Movies and Happenings
"We've only got six weeks to prepare for this years Waterfront Film Festival in Saugatuck Michigan! Check out their website now for pass information to make it an easy weekend. Only coming in town for one night? Then I highly recommend the Thursday opening night party that is held in the street where all the film guests will collect for a summery night of live music, a few drinks served by local sponsors, and a free movie in the street at dusk. This is very much a happy-hour attitude crowd but in the great outdoors of western Michigan along the Kalamazoo river. This is also the only day that all the film guests will be gathering in one area. Through out the weekend they'll be scattered at very venues and restaurants around town. Can you escape two nights? Set aside a day just for movies and get a day pass for as little as $60 and enjoy priority seating for every film you want. Don't like the film you picked? Just leave and catch another also starting at another ven ... "

Clockwatchers
better as a short film

[Be the first to tell us!]
"Clockwatchers is a fun little shot at corporate America but drones on and on in the boring lives of four clueless temporary workers. Screenwriting attempts to pull you into each of the women's lives but doesn't go far enough to be funny or to make you care about them. While many of the little jokes can make one laugh if you've worked in a corporate setting, this movie would have been better suited as a short film. "
