"Initial Thoughts: I was enthralled and disappointed in the film. On the one hand I think they did a good job bringing together many of the important aspects of the book. They managed to capture Umbridge very well. Staunton is absolutely perfect as Umbridge. In fact, I can't imagine anyone else playing her. She made me hate her as much as I hated the character in the book (that's a good thing mind you). She captured the twisted evil that is the Ministry of Magic. As a movie I can see this as being a fantastic film. The pace is very tuned and once again there is a fantastic cast. While the direction is surely not perfect, as a film it is rather good. As an adaptation, however, it is terrible. That's to be expected though, and if you are fooling yourself into thinking that Hollywood might one day do a really great book-to-film adaptation you should probably seek help. Hollywood has yet to accurately portray a book on the big screen, so it's no surprise at all that this ... "

"lol. I'm not opposed to information about cons--such as when and where, and the occasional blurb from those that have attended one.As for me, I've been to FanimeCon in San Jose 3 years in a row now, and SacAnime--Sunrise & Scottish Rite (it sucked, hence why I only went once. FanimeCon is superb). Other than saying that FanimeCon is freaking awesome I don't know what else to say :S. It's so much fun and HUGE. It's so crazy. The first year I went there was nothing but Naruto cosplayers EVERYWHERE, the second year it was FMA, and this year it was...well I don't think there was one big one this year to be honest. One of these days I'm going to cossplay lol. "

"Generally I would agree. Most, 99% really, of all dubbed Anime is garbage. Naruto anyone? I couldn't stand any more than ten seconds of it, it was just so horrible. The only Anime I thought was dubbed appropriately was Gundam Wing, but that's because it was the show that introduced me to Japanese animation and it was the only one that didn't sound entirely ridiculous. There might be other dubbed works that are good, but I haven't seen them yet. Well, Princess Mononoke maybe. In any case, I like the subbed works better for that very reason--you get a better imrpession of the characters with the original language. "

"I watched the first 18 minutes and 47 seconds of it before I started skipping around to see what would happen. The story is idiotic, cliche beyond rational thinking.First, in a world of high technology as we have it today it is impossible to legitimately believe that the walking dead would actually force mankind to begin holing itself up in bunkers for any considerable amount of time. Bunkers is figurative here. Bunkers can mean cities with defense nets, etc. In this movie we have your typical slow moving zombies. These are only effective in the short run, in those little towns and places where there aren't a lot of people, but a hell of a lot of zombies. These are also your typical zombies in that the infection takes a long while to spread in someone--they have to die to become one of them. This is exactly why flicks like 28 Days Later and 28 Years Later and the remake of Dawn of the Dead became a thousand times more frightening. The former two more so because the infe ... "
