"As a music junkie, I thought this top five should be easy for me. But it wasn't! After discounting the biopics and documentaries, I was left with a surprisingly sparse list of movies. I had to look at my collection and really reevalute each film, trying to figure out which ones were really about music, or had music in a prominent role. I couldn't put too many of Adam and Sam's choices on this list -- it felt like cheating to me. Needless to say, Almost Famous, High Fidelity, etc are all in my 6-10. 5. "I'm a huge fan of Glen Hansard (the star), and his band The Frames. If you like the music, Hansard made an album last year with his Once co-star, Marketa Irglova, called The Swell Season. I'm going to see Once as soon as humanly possible. There's something so arresting about Glen Hansard. His charisma on the stage is amazing, but even on screen I can't take my eyes off him. I can't wait to hear Adam and Sam's opinion. " [More]

"The one that sticks out for me is Elliott Garfield's introduction in Neil Simon's "The Goodbye Girl" (one of the most underrated Simon films in its own right). When we first meet Elliott Garfield (played by Richard Dreyfuss in his Oscar winning role), he's soaked, sniffling, bespectacled, and whining, standing in a leaky telephone booth. At first, he seems so nebbishy. But when he finally gets a word in edgewise, his personality completely defies what we've been introduced to. He takes charge and snatches those panties off the shower rod! " [More]
