"For Heaven's Sake, a movie about a grandmother who dies, visits heaven, then pulls strings to go to her former life briefly to visit her granddaughter, is a very funny movie that moved me throughout. Ann Marcus, the talented screenwriter, wrote on a serious subject, a young girl's fear of death, inside the context of a funny, nutty and bigger story about the bureaucracy in heaven. She very skillfully carries us through the serious matters, while entertaining us along the way with the other stuff. Marcus gives us some clear characterizations with some precious moments. At the helm, director Nat Christian paints all of this on the screen and gives us a delectable work of art. His actors are free and deliver some memorable moments as Christian keeps a tight rhythm, charmingly bouncing back and forth with the funny and the emotional moments. Florence Henderson in the lead role is winning. Strong, determined and very attractive. Allison Lange is alluring as a younger Florence. Dav ... " [More]
A visionary movie

"Faye Dunaway, WIlliam Holden and Peter FInch rock and roll in this great movie, that was apparently visionary when it was made. had I seen it when it first came out, I might have thought that the filmmakers were nuts. But it is so very close to reality. The screenplay by Paddy Chayefsky is incredibly insightful and really visionary, while being funny at times. Sidney Lumet's direction is strong and he does the difficult task of blending satire with a tamer truth Great job. " [More]
Favreau does an excellent job

"Screenwriters Arthur Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote a very cool script (based on the comic book) about a mechanical genius CEO of a major weapons manufacturer, who goes on a trip to Afghanistan and is mortally wounded and captured by the bad guys. So he invents his Iron Man persona. Directed with a superb style by Jon Favreau, IRON MAN gives us exhilarating action sequences, but also because of Favreau's involvement, some well defined characters and excellent acting performances. Robert Downey Jr. in the title role and Gwyneth Paltrow along with Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges act with great craft in this movie. " [More]
A great fictional recreation

"Director James Cameron takes a historical event, adds a bit of fictional romance to it and ends up giving us a great movie experience. By introducing the story line about a treasure hunter who is searching for a lost diamond aboard the wreckage of the TITANIC, who finds a sketch of a young woman wearing the jewel, and then finding out that the woman is now old and willing to tell her story, Cameron has been able to pretty much recreate the fate that hit the TITANIC while keeping us glued to the screen, because of this fictional woman's story. Cameron wrote and directed this meticulously and the result is very positive. Among a cast of talented actors, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate WInslet make a perfect romantic match fro each other. The photography, the visual effects and the music are outstanding. " [More]
More like the Eastwood characte ...

"Clint Eastwood acts and directs in this movie about a bigot who does not a favorable view about the world in which he lives in. Someone tries to steal his 1972 Gran Torino, and events lead him to intermingle with his Asian neighbors. Eastwood does a good job of directing himself and the rest of the talented cast members. As a director, Eastwood also displays great sensitivity in the acting scenes, with or without him in them. As an actor, he is always interesting to watch. " [More]
