Personal statement:

personally, i think i have a fair judgement of movies. i'm extremely picky but also empathetic towards film makers. so,,,
a few confessions:

1) i've cried in two movies:
a. The Lion King
b. Click

2) I think Click was horrible.

3) I actually saw The Mummy 3: The second-worst decision of my life

4) Worst decision of my life:
I dated a girl who was absolutely crazy for LOTR's.
Not like i hate the trilogy or anything, but those girls are crazy.

"ok, i know that even i've been guilty of watching a movie instead of reading a book. but let me tell you: READ THE BOOK FIRST. it will feel like a bright light shown in the darkness of the fog of confusion in the movie. the book, too, is quite amazing. honestly. the book contains a few missions of the nightwatch focusing on Anton, the main character. "i think what grabbed me the most was the fact that all hell broke loose on the first night. A total massacre of a town. blood, screams, and sharp teeth. nearly everyone DEAD! and it was only the first night. so it became more of a small-town apacolyptic tale of bullying vampires. i thought it was a great film even though i'm not a huge fan of horror flicks. i loved the movie Hard Candy (2004) and when i saw that David Slade tackled this adaptation, i gave it a shot. and i'm greatful.
