"This light British comedy had a really stunning cast (very few well-known names are mentioned here) and deserves resurrection. North Americans who enjoy older UK comedies like "Doctor in the House", the "Carry On" series, Britcoms like "Dad's Army", UK classics like "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister", or UK drama like "Heartbeat" will leap up saying "I know that face!" As one of the extras in the scenes at the Naval College I enjoyed seeing this movie made. It strayed a little from reality - don't most movies? - but it was fun and funny. The original title was "We joined the Navy", the title of the book by John Winton (Naval Historian), on which it was loosely based. Please bring it back! I'd like to get my hands on a copy, so would one of the original cast (Derek Fowlds) back in the UK. " [More]
