"The biggest challenge for a new Batman movie will be finding a way to up the stakes from Nolan's most recent effort. How does one top, or even come close to, the exhilarating Dark Knight? The answer is to make a very different movie. The focus of this film should be a Batman distraught with his failures. The loss of Rachel and Harvey should weigh heavily on Batman. But here is the plot: Part 1) Two Face is not dead. In efforts to "save face," his identity was changed to protect him from mobsters who would want vengeance on Dent for his life as DA. Two Face should re-emerge and hunt mob bosses. Part 2A) Hunted by cops, shunned by the public, haunted by failure, Batman should hit rock bottom here. Part of the Venom story line (found in early issues of Legends of the Dark Knight) can be adapted here; maybe Batman can turn to performance enhancers to keep up with the swelling challenges of Gotham City.
