Personal statement:

Hello hello hello. I'm Marina. Sadly I'm stuck at the age of fifteen. I do the whole, at-home school thing. I write a lot and make music (play guitar, sing). I love movies, absolutely adore them. I hope to become a director when I'm older. I'm trying to work on some projects now but... we'll just have to see. I'm mainly into dramedies, dark comedies, and Seth Rogen films haha. I love Wes Anderson films as well. I like Michel Gondry's style and creativity. Hopefully one day I can be close to being as good as the filmmakers I look up to. But who knows.

"This movie is just simply wonderful. The story is obviously original because it was based off of the director's own experiences. It's charming and in the end, you'll just smile. Patrick Fugit's innocence and respect for others in this film is refreshing in the environment he's set in. His character is open to new experiences, but knows when things can go too far. Philip Seymour Hoffman is great in this movie too. I like his slightly witty attitude and how he is a lifeline for Fugit's character. Kate Hudson was stunning. Yes, she's beautiful, but her acting was so... real. I was impressed with her performance. No wonder she was nominated for an Oscar for this performance. I recommend this movie to anyone reading this. It's a great film. " [More]

"I heard about this movie throughout word of mouth, and my friends told me I just had to see it. I was wondering why people were so in love with this film. It looked like a movie about fighting, and Brad Pitt. Okay. So luckily it was on HBO and I began to watch it. For 1999, it had nice little sequences of CGI, and I noticed how clever the script was. Throughout the movie, you get more into the main character and how his mind set is slowly falling apart. When Helena Bonham Carter came into the film, I started liking it. Ah, she's such a great actor. She does crazy with class. ...if that's possible. She just always does great in a role. So to get to the point, at the end, I was in awe. The movie turned out to be brilliant and the ending made it outstanding. It's always the ending for me that makes me decide whether I loved the film or not. ...And this ending was great. It was quirky and cute. No wonder everyone loves this film. It was done magically and the script was amazing. If you ... " [More]

"The man has such an imagination. I love the cinematography in all three movies in the trilogy. I think every actor fits their character. I even heard that Viggo Mortensen got so into his character off set, he would practice with his sword in public and it would sometimes scare off people. Usually books that turn into movies end up either making the fans of the book upset or it doesn't resemble the book and it's genuine structure. The LOTR movies pleased everyone; critics, fans of the books, and people who have never read the books. Because it's quality is so high, this movie is a must see, along with the two others. :) " [More]

"Helloo everyone. I'm Marina, 15 years of age, and found the website through the movie 'Four Eyed Monsters'. Has anyone seen it? 'Cause I think it was done quite well. They're doing episodes for their show now on IFC, I think. Anyways, I love dramedies (drama + comedies, yeah) and dark comedies. I'm into indie films and some foreign films as well. My favorite film though might have to be either Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or The Royal Tenenbaums. I'm really into Wes Anderson. I'd love to be a director/filmmaker when I'm older. I'm even working on some scripts now... haha. Well, I'd love to hear from others if they have any interests similar to mine. I'd like to read about others as well! " [More]
