driving me nuts
I can't get this short little montage out of my head, but I can't remember what movie it's from. There's a voice over narration talking about a character in the movie. It's talking about how he had a relative who died in every major American war, and there's a quick montage of each of his relatives being shot and killed in different era war uniforms. I'm not even sure if this was a movie I liked, but I know I've seen it. What is it???

Re:driving me nuts
"The Wrong Box" is about a tontine, and various folks are shown dying off, but I can't remember if they're related.
I vaguely remember a movie, don't remember if it was that one, where one of the men, in uniform, is standing on the wall of a fort, blowing on a bugle, and an arrow thuds through the length of the intrument and skewers him...

No that's not it because I've never even heard of that movie. This was quite a short sequence. Probably couldn't have been more than 10 seconds. I think most of the shots are overhead shots of the grown showing the different people falling dead into the frame. Again each shot is only a second or a couple seconds at most, and the whole montage is only like 10 seconds at the most.
I think it's from one of these quirky movies with lots of narration about characters that shows all of these montages about the past.... I dunno. I'm so annoyed I can't figure it out!

Re:driving me nuts
My friend Andy was able to answer this for me. It's from Forrest Gump:
FORREST (V.O.) Lt. Dan sure knew his stuff. I felt real lucky he was my lieutenant. He was from a long, great military tradition. Somebody in his family had fought and died in every single American war.
