missing a film

kidnapping film

This is a complete shot in the dark, since I only remember bits and pieces, and I might just be imagining this from my childhood.

 The film was probably in the 70s or 80s, centers around some kids that are kidnapped by bank robbers or some kind of criminals.  The bad guys wear masks of famous people I believe.  I think it was a light-hearted film, perhaps Disney or along those lines.   I watched it multiple times when I was younger (I was born in '83).  Sorry I can't remember anything beyond this.

Was it No deposit, No Return with the great Don Knotts and the great Darren McGavin? I used to watch this when I was young mainly because my family only had Disney  on vhs in the early days of home video.

Bingo, thank you!  I could still picture Darren McGavin in it but couldn't place the name with the face, and I can't believe I forgot Don Knotts was also in it.  I need to watch this again.  Thanks!
