Nintendo Wii

I am an old school gamer.

I have been gaming for over 20 years (but still find myself relateively well balanced and not living in my parent's basement).  I also worked at a videogame store for 6-7 years.  I think the Nintendo Wii is the biggest and best innovation since the leap from Atari to NES or from the 16-bit era to the 32/64-bit era.

You create characters on the system who are available in some of the games to play as (so duh, you make yourself.  I also have a nice "The Dude" and "The Jesus" from Big Lewbowski).  The controller is fun and brings in others who might feel overwhelmed by other controllers.

Its fun.  Its great.  Games are cheap(er, than the competetors) and so is the system.

If you wrote off Nintendo years ago, you should look them back up.  This is a winner, no question.

Re: Nintendo Wii

I had written it off when they stopped calling it the "Revolution" but I'll check it out.  I've been hearing good things from a lot of people.

How great is that, that they give you stuff w/ the system.  That hasn't happened since what- Genesis?

Re: Nintendo Wii

You get the game Wii Sports free in the box, which is one of the only games I've been playing.  Don't get me wrong, I have Zelda, Madden, Red Steel (which is real fun) and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but Wii Sports is something everyone (from my 5 year old niece to many of my aunts and uncles) have been able to pick up and be competetive with.  Plus it works just like bowling or Golf that they just eat it up.

Great system the Wii, the downloadable games are cool too!  I have some old classics that I haven't played in a while and some of the best ones come out this week (Toe Jam & Earl, Super Mario Bros, etc)
