what is your plan for when the zombies attack?

three days in a row I had the same conversation--what would do you if the zombies attacked?  the better version of the question--what WILL you do when the zombies attack?

i always think that i can out run them and hope that some sort of flame torch falls out of the sky in my hands.

the lack of response to this thread worries me.  does this mean no one has an emergency escape plan?  frightening.

I had to wait to be approved before I could post.  :-)  While I can't take full credit for this, I found my friends' plans to be perhaps some of the most interesting.  Instead of focusing on defenses and weapons, their plan consisted soley of one item: a zip line.  Which just happened to run to the nearest girls' dormitory.  You know, to repopulate the earth...

  I have a plan for that sort of scenerio...   it is called  "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out" ...   But I like your  "repopulating the earth" idea...

Have you seen the movie Fido?  Hopefully, someone will invent those little "behave" collars soon, just in case.  Then I just have to hope Antonio Bandaras becomes a zombie so I can put that CONTROL collar on him.  Yes, that would be really nice.  hee hee hee.

It would kind of frighten me if there were too many people spending a lot of time coming up with a legitimate emergency escape plan for zombies since the idea itself is so unprecidented and absurd.

Why does the fact that no one has an escape plan frighten you?  Does it put a damper on your own escape plan?

Unprecedented and absurd?  We'll see if you still say that as no one  hears your screams over the chant of the undead for "more brains!" ;-)  That being said, I think I'd follow the principles of the olden day warriors, such as when Petra was defended.  Find a way to wall yourself off with only a narrow access point, and pick off the zombies one-by-one as they try to attack. 

I'm thinking a concrete bunker with only one entrance (otherwise they inevitably find the super secret and secure back entrance/ventilation shaft, and figure out how to open it), and piles of shotgun ammo (double barrel 12 guage with a modified choke would be my choice), and piles of Dinty Moore stew.  I figure I could hold them off for a good long while.  I've also been thinking of a fire-moat of some sort, with napalm launchers.  Fire seems to be effective and good for wiping out large quantities at a time.

   Actually, I DO have an "escape" plan, or more of a "survival" plan, for this one!   And it is entirely the opposite of yours, Seely!   If you are healthy and not badly injured you should keep moving as quickly and quietly as you can...   try to find other people...   this is only common sense.   IF you are seriously injured and/or seriously outnumbered AND there is absolutely no hope of escape at all THEN it is time to start thinking about "bunkering" ...   Remember The Alamo....

I'm a little surprise repopulation didn't creep up in your plan somewhere :-)  I'm thinking rounding up all the survivors possible, and setting up camp on an island somewhere, ala Giligan's Island while focusing on repopulation as the zombies eventually wipe themselves out could be a good way to go...  they have to run out of brrrrraaains at some point.

Yeah you are right.  So now that I've thought about it I have two differnet possible plans.

1. Kidnap and extraterrestrial and hold him for ransom in exchange for a spaceship which I will use to leave the planet Earth.

2.  Step into a time warp portal and go back in time to a time before the zombie invasion
