ZomComs: Will Fido be as funny as Shaun of the Dead?

By now zombie fans have probably heard of "Fido", a Canadian production starring Carrie-Anne, Billy Connoly, Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, Where Art  Thou?, Syriana), and Dylan Baker (Peter Parker's professor in Spider-Man 2 & 3). It's US release date is June 15.

Set in the 50's, the premise is that Earth passed through a cloud of space dust, making the dead rise like yeast. However the corporation ZomCon domesticated them with special collars, or so they thought.

With Billy Connolly playing a zombie, I don't think these guys have anything to worry about. Besides, the concept of setting it in the 50s is going to make it look great. I keep getting flashes of Tim Burton's movie "Frankenweenie."
