Zombie Activities in your hometown
In Seattle this weekend there is going to be a zombie walk where they are trying to get as many people as possible to break the Guiness Book of World Records for the longest zombie walk ever. I will not be a zombie, my friends think I am strange enough, but I will be doing something fun. On Friday night, the Fremont outdoor movies here in Seattle, is going to be showing Shaun of the Dead and having a best zombie costume contest. So this should be really fun!
Just wondering if any other towns had things like this? I know around Halloween it is really a zombie fest. I've also heard that with Michael Jackson's death, there are places that are doing a "Thriller" walk and dance. Anything else happening or will happen one day in your area?

Please let us know how all of that turns out, June. I saw a thing on TV several months ago about different cities competing for the world record "zombie walk" and I believe that Seatle already holds the record. I think there is a similar event in Pittsburgh at the "Munroeville Mall" or something like that... It is the mall where the original Dawn of the Dead was filmed... Does it seem that there are a lot of zombies in your city? Maybe just a lot of zombie fans... Either way, it's all good!
ZOMBIES RULE!

I saw that video on Facebook, that is friggin unbelievable that they got all those prisoners to "play along" - I wonder if there were death threats involved if they didn't participate. I loved the "girl" in there too, way over the top dramatic. That was hilarious!!
I had a GREAT time at hte movie, you know that Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite movies and to see the zombie costume show was so much fun. I just love things like that, I need to meet more people that like doing those things out here.

Re:Zombie Activities in your hometown
Whoa! Ms. June, your zombie walk kinda trumps the Lawrence zombie walk. We do ours every Halloween. It's pretty fun, but fairly simple. A bunch of fun-loving oddballs gather at night in the park at one end of the main downtown drag. We come in costume, slather on some makeup and trudge from one end of Massachusetts street to the other, terrorizing citizens and leaving bloody handprints on store windows. Some people get waaay too into it, but mostly it's just good fun. Last year was my first time walking. The best part was going to the coffee shop afterwards in my zombie makeup and ordering an Americano.

Abby, that sounds really fun too. I don't know if you've ever been to Seattle before, but we have a HUGE Troll sculpture that is under a bridge here in Fremont, it is so big that under one of it's hands is a Volkswagon beetle. Anyway, every year they have a little zombie walk at Halloween and it's a little parade that goes to a building where they have a big Halloween party. A lot of fun.
Are you from Lawrence, KS? I was thinking if there were any other Lawrence's around in the U.S. I grew up in Kansas City, MO and when I was young and in the punk rock scene and had my own punk rock band, Lawrence had the best music scene ever. I don't know how that is now, but we would take some weekend trips there and see a lot of great bands at the time. SO many good memories...
