Re: Welcome to the Group!
Hmm, well alot of people I know seem to like 50 First Dates and The Corpse Bride alot. And personally I didn't like It's a Wonderful Life. I found it rather boring. = /
As for the Star Wars movie, I didn't put that in the list. Maybe someone will start a converstaion explaining why they think it's overrated?

Re: Welcome to the Group!
Thanks for the invite as well. Except...I don't know about this group. First of all, I like most every film on the overrated list. The original Star Wars trilogy and Lord of the Rings trilogy are my most favorite in the entire super big world. I also like 12 Monkeys and It's a Wonderful Life. I even liked 50 First Dates. I didn't like Anchorman so much, but I digress... I don't like to call flicks "overrated" because someone's overrated is someone else's favorite flick. I would probably get passionate about every movie discussed. It makes me tear a little that SW or LOTR would even be considered overrated. You might as well say Citizen Kane is overrated; I mean, important , groundbreaking movie sure, but it was kind of boring, and the payoff? I was so disappointed, even if it was symbolic. Just saying.
Also, while I belong to "Worst Movie Ever" (because slamming truly bad films can be fun), I have never joined "Movies We Do Not Want to See" because I have a philosophy of trying not to judge a movie too harshly by its cover. I'll watch anything once, though I'm choosy when it comes to paying for a movie.
So........I don't know what to do. You're going to get great conversations out of calling movies overrated, but what does overrated truly mean?!? I mean, I think Napoleon Dynamite is not that laugh riot that lots of people think, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's an innovative, quirky movie. Help!
