Top 10 Scene Stealers

Some of these movies are better than others, but they all share one thing in common: whenever the following actors leave the screen, you wish they'd come right back.

10. Kurt Russell: Stuntman Mike in Death Proof

9. Mickey Rourke: Marv in Sin City

8. Gene Wilder: Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

7. Bill Murray: Carl Speckler in Caddyshack

6. Jack Nicholson: the Joker in Batman

5. Brad Pitt: Chad Feldheimer in Burn After Reading

4. Daniel Day-Lewis: Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York

3. Heath Ledger: the Joker in The Dark Knight

2. Anthony Hopkins: Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs

1. Harrison Ford: Han Solo in Star Wars: A New Hope

Re:Top 10 Male Performances Better Than the Movie

Good list.  With the movies I've seen (which is most of them), I'd have to agree.  I've got one for consideration: I just watched The Last King of Scotland.  Forest Whitaker made that movie and got a golden guy for doing so.  If it weren't for him, I probably would have hated the movie and the entire concept.  He stole every scene he was in, and my biggest complaint was that he wasn't there enough.

Thanks pippin. And like you, I didn't like much about The Last King of Scotland besides Forest.

Any reason why this list of Top 10 Scene stealers took a turn toward testosterone? Here's some women who stand out even in strong casts:

For redress, here's:

1) Emily Blunt in The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

2) Sarah Polley in Go (1999)

3) Arsinée Khanjian in The Sweet Hereafter (1997)

4) Kerry Washington in The Dead Girl (2006)

5) Jenny Seagrove in Local Hero (1983)

6) Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice (1988)

7) Cher in Silkwood (1983)

8) Jane Birkin in La Belle Noiseuse (1991)

9) Natasha Richardson in A Month in the Country (1987)

10) Christina Hendricks in anything, including Firefly: Serenity, Part 1 (2002)

Yes. I have more man-crushes than I can count.

I really enjoyed your list, and I have crushes on some of them, too (especially Emily Blunt).
