Anyone seen Rent?
Yup, I've not seen it yet because I'm wondering if it's worth seeing on celluloid. One friends who loves the stage version of Rent enough to marry it said it was a waste of time and money.
What do you think? Should I go? Should I wait for the DVD? Is it worth
seeing, but should I use the gift certificate spouse Justin won to pay
for it?

Re: Anyone seen Rent?
I refuse to see this film. I too, love the stage version enough to marry it. Enough to memorize the entire soundtrack and enough to have it seen it once in GR and once in NY. I can only guess that they've edited the hell out of the script and turned it into a sappy love story. According to E!, the cast sings and dance as if they're oblivous to the eviction notices, the friends dying of AIDS and the drug addiction. I say skip it.

People were lined up in here in Chicago to get tickets to the re staging of this show. I guess a lot of the original cast members are back. But lots of people are saying they are too old and the show is outdated now....
