Taking a cue from other groups, because I apparently lack originality today, I thought I would create a thread wherein us fantasy nerds (or least, casual fans) can introduce ourselves. I'll get the ball rolling:
I'm Pippin06, also known as Kylie, but since I like that hobbit so much, I gave myself the Pippin handle in 2006 when I joined the group. I love fantasy because I love the escape! I often read books, watch movies, and write stories with fantasy themes. Lord of the Rings will forever be my true favorite fantasy, but I am pretty obsessed with Harry Potter and Star Wars too (if you think that's more fantasy than scifi). And that's me and my fantasy nerddom in a small nutshell.
Just so's you know, I think it's ok to talk about science fiction here because it's a kind of fantasy. There's a discussion thread about that, in fact.
So, feel free to make some acquaintances, ask questions, mingle online-style. And welcome to the group!
