Casting ideas for the optioned, pre-productioned, rumored and otherwise purgatory-ed films of the (possible) future. Ideas for who should play Captain America in the (inevitable) adaptation? Let'd hear it fanboy! Post-David Craig Bond idea? Sure. Wanna start an argument? Hells yeah!

Cast away

I got the idea from my post about Cat's Cradle.

There are hundreds of books, comics, etc. that have been optioned and sit in limbo waiting for something to make some say "You know waht we should finally make?"

So I say we dream cast these things. We start a discussion for each and cast them... because we're all movie nerds and that's the sort of thing we do.

So who's going to start us off?

Hey, Joe! (Where you goin' with that gun in your hand?) Hey, all! Thanks for the invite. Sounds like a fun group.

I'll have to give this a proper think, but in the meantime I see a chance to get something off my chest. My dream casting for Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in the Spidey flicks was Ray Wise -- you know, Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks. Nothing against Willem Dafoe (although he did kind of ham it up), but Ray Wise not only looks like the comic book Osborn, he even gets those beads of sweat on his forehead just like Norman did whenever he was on his way to another psychotic episode. Ray Wise would have owned that part.

Right, end of rant. Now let me think about a movie to cast.

You're right!  Ray Wise has an amazing forhead!

Ah, that's the one. Great pic! Now tell me that isn't the spittin' image of old Norman.

Re: Cast away

Plus Ray Wise would've been cheaper than Dafoe. Maybe with the money savedm, Spider-Man 3 wouldn't have sucked so thoroughly. Ah... if only.
