TFF 2008 - here it comes!
My Festival pass arrived in the mail the other day.
Does anyone have any guesses as to what may be on the TFF 2008 program?
My first guess is Milk. IMDB used to have it listed in Venice (the same weekend as Telluride) and Toronto... Any other guesses?

I have done a little research - next Tuesday the Toronto program will be released, and that will help the guessing somewhat - anyway, based upon previous directors / performers being in Telluride and the release dates, the following is a list of possible films for the Telluride 2008 program (SPOUT links included where possible, otherwise they are IMDB):
Silence de Lorna, Le by Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne
The Other Man with Laura Linney
Abrazos rotos, Los by Pedro Almodóvar
State of Play by Kevin Macdonald
Rudo y Cursi by Carlos Cuarón
Hey Hey It's Esther Blueburger by Cathy Randall with Toni Collette
Adam Resurrected by Paul Schrader
Untitled Nicole Holofcener Project
An Education by Lone Scherfig
The Broken Code by Peter Bogdanovich
Triage by Danis Tanovic
Is There Anybody There? by John Crowley
Subdivision by Sue Brooks
Come Dio comanda (As God Commands) by Gabriele Salvatores
Bulletproof Salesman by Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker
Armored by Nimród Antal
Changeling by Clint Eastwood
My Magic by Eric Khoo
Aline & Wolfe by Lajos Koltai
Uncertainty by Scott McGehee and David Siegel
Foxcatcher by Bennett Miller
All -- Let me know what you think...

Nice research! I can't wait, I'll have to see what I can find out about these movies.

Here is another possible film for Telluride's program - Blindness by Fernando Meirelles (City of God (2002))...

That's quite a long list for the Toronto fest. I've always enjoyed the surprise of the schedule at Telluride; I've never thought of actively guessing and researching what might be there. Having said that, though, I do hope you are right about "Milk." I've been looking forward to it. Even though I was quite young, I remember the event pretty well as I moved the SF bay area just after it happened. Well, back to packing for Telluride....

Have you seen The Times of Harvey Milk? It played in Telluride before pretty much anywhere else (according to their history link)...

Yes, I have seen it several times. I rented it again recently when I heard they were making "Milk." It caught my attention when I heard about it partly because of the subject matter and partly because of the cast. I had just seen Sean Penn at Telluride last year (with Into the Wild) and I think he was an excellent choice to play Milk. Also, Gus Van Sant lives here in Portland so I'm always watching for his projects. The rest of the cast looks terrific as well. Gawd my packing for Telluride is going slowly this year, I just keep putting it off. Sheesh.

I just saw the trailer for Changeling... looks *phenomenal*! Clint Eastwood + Angelina Jolie. Say what you want about AJ, but its hard to deny she *can* be a great performer in the right film with the right director. Can't wait till it hits theatres. Corruption is always good on the big screen.
