More SPAM...

It seems that someone loves me (amd probably everyone else on Spout)...  I think we need a dedicated way to flag this sort of thing right from the message center...

Both spammers that emailed me (and all of you) today, tiram002 and victoria01, have been banned.

Here is another -- I complained to Yahoo! about the last one and they said that because we don't have e-mail header info, they can't do anything.  The added, however, that if the website (SPOUT) captures the IP address, then a complaint could be passed to the ISP...

Sorry for the spam. You're right, tracking the IP addresses would probably stop this kind of stuff from happening. For now, if you report them to me, I will close their account. At this point, that is probably the best we can do until that kind of system can be implemented.

One of the last times this happened, I complained to Yahoo.  Because we don't have e-mail header information, they would not do anything - they would not even look into it...

What kind of email header info? The other problem is that this is internal messaging, not email. So I am not so sure there would be much we can do other than close the accounts. But I am not really sure how spamming and phishing works, so correct me if I'm wrong.
