Movies that came to mind...
So, when i joined this group there were a couple of films that came to mind right away that i added to the lists. The first one was probably the one I am most sick of hearing about, but you have to put it on the list anyway, right? The Graduate, soundtrack uses all Simon and Garfunkel songs, and who doesn't love them? Parsely, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme. That's all I have to say about that. Next I thought of The Virgin Suicides; Sofia Coppola's semi-creep-yet-beautiful take on a family of sheltered girls. The film actually kind of freaked me out the first time I saw it, but I loved the music. I didn't know it at the time, but the entire soundtrack was created by Air. Good stuff. The next two aren't history makers or anything, I just have a serious thing for U2 and I would be remise if I left them out. The Million Dollar Hotel was not that great of a movie, I liked it for some of its thematic content, but really, did Bono, Larry, Adam, and the Edge have to chill in the lobby during the montage? Oh well, I still love the sequence where they used "The First Time", its kind of gut wrenching the portrayal of grace and violence. Anyway, the Mission: Impossible soundtrack is on there too because it was produced by Larry Mullin and Dave Evans (Aka The Edge), I still think they did the best theme for those films. Then last I added In Good Company, also not a stellar film and the soundtrack wasn't so much original as it just used good songs, it was kind of like Garden State meets corporate America. I probably wouldn't even bother putting it on here except for the ending sequence where they use my favorite Iron & Wine song "The Trapeze Swinger". Heck, if my life had a soundtrack I would totally want that song to be play while I ran off into the sunrise. Awesomeness:)
