I voted for Memento, because I have to pick just one, and it's a fantastic piece of storytelling, well directed, and well acted. I haven't seen The Wrestler or Sideways (don't judge), though I look forward to doing so, but of the remaining films, the only one I didn't altogether enjoy was Far From Heaven....though I can't remember why specifically. Hard poll!

What a great list! It's between Memento and Lost in Translation. Although I enjoyed Sideways a lot at the time, I now cannot quite remember what the theme was--a bad sign. Little Miss Sunshine was fun to watch but not particuarly funny, and the climactic scene was a little clunky. Juno, as many people pointed out, had some problems of tone or appropriate dialogue, while the story and the acting were great. Ok, I'll pick Memento mainly because it was more daring or innovative cinematically than Lost in Translation. But I"d watch either one again any time.

It came down to a tug of war between Memento and Brokeback Mountain. Brokeback won out because of the word "favorite" in the question. I was much impressed with Memento but enjoyed Brokeback more. I did like Little Miss Sunshine, Juno and Lost in Translation a lot, but they didn't have as much of an impact as the others. I can't even remember a lot of Translation, for some reason. Sideways had some funny moments and I loved Thomas Haden Church but came away with overall disappointment in that one. Haven't yet seen The Wrestler or Far From Heaven.

I had to fall on the side of Lost in Translation - I like all of these a lot (except The Wrestler - maybe I was having a bad day, but I don't think so) - anyway - back to my choice... Lost in Translation is the only one that I can say, without any hesitation, "I loved it"...
Tom
P.S. What's with the Movie Link window - it can't ever seem to find movies anymore...

I had to throw in for Memento but a close second would be The Wrestler. Good list, I still haven't seen Far From Heaven or a couple of others..

Completely agree, Memento is probably the most solid of the bunch, but I really liked The Wrestler. I liked Little Miss Sunshine a lot too, but I don't tell people that.

This is a tough one. Many of these films are great in their own right, but when comparing them it becomes quite difficult to decide which I liked the best, partly because the distance in time between seeing Memento and Juno, for instance.
I voted for Juno partly because I have the most vivid recollection of that film, and partly because I'm feeling somewhat sentimental, and Juno appealed to my sentimental side in some strange way I can't adequately describe.

So many good ones. It was a toss up for me between Lost in Translation and Brokeback Mountain. I was really moved by both of them and thought they were beautiful too. I gave my vote to Brokeback though, just because of the over all film making and acting.

I'll have to pick Memento too, that film was just executed so perfectly for it's concept. Lost in Translation was a bit of brillaince too. But Sideways got on my nerves too much for me to give it much praise.
