Who is your favorite of the four Marx Brothers that appeared in movies?

Please reference this thread for the rules of this group.

I'm expecting this to be a battle mostly between Groucho and Harpo, but maybe I'll be surprised.

Please vote only once in each poll.

Their mom's favorite was Chico (Leonard).

I have to admit, I have never seen a movie with any of the Marx Brothers...

...so I did not vote.

Ah, another difficult one!  I love them all...for me it came to waffling between Groucho and Chico.  As brilliant as Harpo was, and as much as I loved his harp playing, sometimes he waxed a bit too silly for me.  Groucho and Chico made me laugh most.  An affinity for wordplay and wit rather than sight gags.  In the end I voted for Chico because I warmed to him most.  I think.  :-)

What's everyone's favorite Marx Brothers film (or should that be left for another poll)?  Most people of my acquaintance say "Duck Soup" but mine is "Night at the Opera."

Any relation to Karl? =)

I've not seen Duck Soup or any other Marx brother movie. I'll have to add one to my netflix queue.

Ditto for me, but they're on tap for the AFI film watching thing I'm doing.  Duck Soup (at least) and maybe Night at the Opera are on at least one of those lists.

I've seen their first 7 fims, which are supposed to be their best, and here's my order of preference:

Top 5 Marx Bros. Movies

1. Duck Soup - In their madcap prime, they were invincible.

2. Monkey Business - The one where they're stowaways. They're a whirlwind of trouble and laughter. A big step forward from their first movie, The Cocoanuts.

3. A Night at the Opera - Probably their best "film" (it has really good production value and some believable characters). Very funny, but I miss their unpredictable and crazed exploits from earlier movies.

4. Animal Crackers - The one at the mansion where a painting is stolen. Nearing their prime here, they seem effortlessly funny.

5. Horse Feathers - The one at the college. Very funny, but not quite as funny as I'd hope a Marx Brothers college comedy would be.

6. A Day at the Races - Their second best "film," but to me it felt kind of tired compared to its predecessor, A Night at the Opera.

7. The Cocoanuts - Pretty rough; looks like it was all done in one take, and it probably was. Too much singing and dancing for me, and Groucho botches a joke or two. It's still worth watching for those who've seen the other six films.

Pretty good ordering Adam.  Those are the seven I have seen as well, although I have all of them on DVD through boxed sets.  I've been making my way through them.  I'm kind of afraid to find out if the latter films are as disappointing as they say.  I can't imagine they wouldn't at least be some fun.
