Bedknobs and Broomsticks -- I'm still moved when the antique suits of armor mobilize for battle to the sounds of bagpipes.

Mary Poppins is one of my favorite movies ever.  The added animation is just a bonus.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Bedknobs and Broomsticks are close seconds for me.

This is a hard one.

The first of these I remember watching is Song of the South and I loved it (being completely ignorant of the utterly racist undertones throughout the film). I still find myself sometimes whistling Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.

Mary Poppins was one of those staples in my childhood film diet that I could watch over and over and over. But I never really cared for the animated sequence part of the film.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was the first movie I remember being amazed at the combination of animated characters with real actors and it all being so flawless.

But ultimately I have to choose Cool World. It was my first exposure to Brad Pitt and Kim Basinger and the first pseudo pornography I'd ever seen. It's just a batsh*t crazy movie that most parents at the time let their kids watch without taking the time to realize what an adult movie it actually is.

[I have not seen a lot of these--what else from a guy who is mired in 1940s film noir. But . . . Roger Rabbit was my vote because it was audacious! (not to mention a bit sexy). (not to mention one I'd actually watch again, especially if there were not so many early 1950s film noir I yet have to see.)

I'm not sure its my favorite, but Song of the South is definitely interesting and worthy of discussion. So controversial nowadays that I guess its been banned.

It also was Disney's first animated/live action hybrid film, and 'incredibly racist'.  I was too young when I saw it to comment on its racism, but I'm pretty sure it probably was.  Its very interesting culturally speaking, especially noting the fact the civil rights movement took place a mere 14 years later.

Here's a little clip for you all:

Wow, the only one of these I haven't seen is So Dear to My Heart.

Easy, this one.  Roger Rabbit.  The blend of live action and animation was (is) stunning, and it's quite enjoyable, both for kids and adults.  I do have a big soft spot for Bob Hoskins, but then I have a bigger one for Gabriel Byrne and I hated Cool World.  Once again, a great idea squandered by really stupid (to me) writing.

Mary Poppins would be my second choice.  Saw Song of the South for the first time as an adult and was too appalled to find anything charming about it.  Most of the others struck me as too silly (Bedknobs) or senseless (Space Jam).

I'm not surprised that Who Framed Roger Rabbit is currently winning by a landslide.  It's certainly my favorite too.  Check out my blog:

Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Pete's Dragon is one of my favorites as well (so kudos to whoever voted for it!), but the animation isn't nearly as extensive as some of the other films I'd say.

I'm interested by Merc declaring Cool World as his favorite.  I've been pretty curious to see it even though it received mostly pretty harsh reviews.

I can't believe Mary Poppins only has three votes. Bunch of delinquents.

I'm suprised The Three Caballeros doesn't get enough love. That movie is just bugnuts crazy!
