To be fair, I've only seen 3 of these, but GoodFellas (1990) was the best of those.

Taxi Driver was dull up until the rampage(I know, that's blasphemy), and Casino was traumatic (for the same reason that My Cousin Vinny  was traumatic--the thought of Joe Pesci as a love interest--bleh).

Sadly, I don't remember much of Cape Fear since the only time I saw it was in the theater when it was released and I was 9. Sharon Stone ruined Casino for me; after seeing Basic Instinct in the theater she gave me nightmares (Yes, I had horrible parents that took me to way too many R rated films when I was a kid). I have Taxi Driver in a stack of movies that I still need to watch. So basically my vote is for Mean Streets; I really enjoyed it and seeing a younger, more raw De Niro.

I agree that Goodfellas is probably the best of them, but it's worth noting that DeNiro only played a supporting role in that movie, which was primarily about Ray Liotta's character.

Raging Bull is an incredible movie, but also (for me, at least) and incredible downer.  Taxi Driver is pretty fantastic, though I haven't seen it in a long time.

I would suspect that one of those three would win.

I've got a number of Scorsese flicks coming up on the ole Netflix queue and, as such, have only seen two of the listed entries (sadly), which are Casino and Raging Bull.  And, without doubt, Raging Bull was the superior of the two, even if it was about boxing, which is not my favorite sport.  But Sharon Stone's not my favorite anything, and Casino just wasn't all that great.

I'm looking forward to hitting a lot of these candidates very soon, tho.  Taxi Driver and GoodFellas are AFI movies.

Wow, this is a tuff one for me.I am huge fan of Scorsese and De Niro.I remember seeing Cape Fear at the theaters when I was a kid and liked very much. Raging bull was another good one, but not a favorite.

Huge fan of mob movie and books. Casino was good but it didnt do nothing for me. I remember reading a book entitled Murder Machine which was about a serial killing hit squad among the time Goodfellas was supposed to take place. This crew in the book was alot like Pesci's   character, but more sinister.

I loved Mean Streets and it was pretty much what Scorsese saw as a child grewing up in the mean streets of New york. I remember him saying in an interview that he had alot of  associates tied into the mob and the only reason he didnt get involved was something to do with health issues, so this was tribuate so to say to his heritage and what he saw.

All in all I would have to go with cult favorite, Taxi Driver. I really liked the grittyness of it. Alot of people say it was just an orgy of violence, but to alot of people it was one of the greatest films of our time.

Well I voted for Taxi Driver.  I think it's just overall more focused in my opinion, over the big gangster ones like Casino and Goodfellas (which are both very good).

I have yet to see some of these.  I'm interested in Cape Fear since the original was so great.  But I'm surprised no one has even mentioned The King of Comedy.  I know some Scorcese fans that say it's actually maybe his best or at least most underrated movie.  Anyone seen it an have a comment?

Goodfellas!  The only others I've seen are CasinoKing of Comedy (my runner-up--the only Jerry Lewis film I've seen in which I liked his performance), Mean Streets and parts of Taxi Driver.  (At the risk of having my film enthusiast credentials revoked, I have to say I don't get what's so great about Taxi Driver.  Had a hard time staying interested.)  But I quite admire most of Scorsese's movies.  And DeNiro's.

King of Comedy is one of their best.  It's punchily funny--DeNiro and Sandra Bernhardt just kept my mouth open.

Though all of these are classics, I have to go with Raging Bull for the sheer brilliance of the film. It may not be my favorite to rewatch, but it's powerful and gorgeously shot.

I'm interested to see these two reunited.

Once again, I'm late here...I don't have very much time as of late.  It's my time...it's, running out...

Anyways, I enjoyed Taxi Driver the most out of all of them because I think it was Scorcese's breakthrough...I know Mean Streets came earlier, but it didn't garner quite as much acclaim.  That said, Taxi Driver is a pretty raw movie with a strange atmosphere, which I guess just sits well with me.  Raging Bull's definitely my second favorite of the bunch.
