FANGORIA
I was in the grocery store the other day when I spotted the latest FANGORIA on the magazine rack. "The 30th Anniversary Issue" (#284/June) is truely something to behold. This extra thick edition features commentaries by and/or comments about every single one of the 50 members of the "Fangoria Hall of Fame" including...
Dario Argento, Rick Baker, Mario Bava, Rob Bottin, Doug Bradley, Tim Burton, James Cameron, Bruce Campbell, John Carpenter, Jeffrey Combs, Don Coscarelli, David Cronenberg, Jamie Lee Curtis, Peter Cushing, Joe Dante, Guillermo del Torro, Brad Dourif, Robert Englund, Lucio Fulci, Stuart Gordon, Sid Haig, Lance Henrikson, Kane Hodder, Tobe Hooper, Anthony Hopkins, Peter Jackson, Udo Kier, Stephen King, KNB EFX, Heather Langenkamp, Christopher Lee, Dick Miller, Bill Mosely, Paul Naschy, Bill Paxton, Emily Perkins, Ron Perlman, Donald Pleasence, Vincent Price, Linnea Quigley, Eli Roth, Tom Savini, Angus Scrimm, Dick Smith, Christopher Walken, Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Williamson, Stan Winston, Kevin Yagher, Rob Zombie ... With extended interviews with members George Romero, Sam Raimi and Wes Craven ... all of whom hava a new horror film coming out.
Pick this one up if you can find it! A GREAT read!

Dr_Gor:
The Sentinal is a true masterpiece of Horror that is much overlooked nowdays. One of the scariest novels I have ever read and one of the SCARIEST movies I have ever seen.... I absolutely LOVE this movie!
* The Sentinel (1977) is one of the best and scariest movies ever made. I cannot stress this enough. Here is the IMDb link...
The Sentinel (1977)
Just check out the cast....
Besides a scene stealing performance by Christina Raines (any relation to Claude?) and Christopher Walken as a cop, this movie boasts a few recognizable names including Chris Sarandon (Fright Night / The Princess Bride), Eli Wallach, Jose Ferrar, Ava Gardner, Burgess Merrideth (in an especially chilling role), Jeff Goldblum and others ... Beverly D'Angelo ...
Fun stuff. One of the scariest books I ever read was made into one of the scariest movies of all time. This one is right up there, side by side, with The Exorcist as the best of all time. I must admit that I am a bit prejudiced in that the novel was one of the scariest things I have ever read and the movie was pretty faithful to the novel (for a change).
Take my advice on this one. If you are ever in the mood for a good and scary horror movie, seek out The Sentinel .
