Christopher Walken eh?

Yeah, Rizzo,  Christopher Walken.   Are you surprised?   Are you a fan?   I am.   I have apreciated Christopher Walken in several non-horror roles ( The Dogs Of War )   and my ex-wife is convinced that he murdered Natalie Wood...   He has made a few memorable appearances in horror films ranging from his most recent roles in  The Prophecy  series to his earliest role in a horror movie.   It was a small role as a background-cop in an oft overlooked Horror masterpiece.   The Sentinal   is a true masterpiece of Horror that is much overlooked nowdays.   One of the scariest novels I have ever read and one of the SCARIEST movies I have ever seen....   I absolutely LOVE this movie!   ...  I will stop my rant here...

Oh the only horror movies I could think of that I'd seen him in were Sleepy Hollow and maybe you would count The Dead Zone?  But now I remember hearing about the Prophecy movies too.

The Sentinal   is a true masterpiece of Horror that is much overlooked nowdays.   One of the scariest novels I have ever read and one of the SCARIEST movies I have ever seen....   I absolutely LOVE this movie!

   *  The Sentinel (1977) is one of the best and scariest movies ever made.   I cannot stress this enough.  Here is the IMDb link...

  The Sentinel (1977)

   Just check out the cast....

Besides a scene stealing performance by Christina Raines (any relation to Claude?) and Christopher Walken as a cop, this movie boasts a few recognizable names including  Chris Sarandon (Fright Night / The Princess Bride),  Eli Wallach,  Jose Ferrar,  Ava Gardner,  Burgess Merrideth (in an especially chilling role),  Jeff Goldblum and others ...   Beverly D'Angelo ...

Fun stuff.   One of the scariest books I ever read was made into one of the scariest movies of all time.   This one is right up there, side by side, with  The Exorcist  as the best of all time.   I must admit that I am a bit prejudiced in that the novel was one of the scariest things I have ever read and the movie was pretty faithful to the novel (for a change).

Take my advice on this one.   If you are ever in the mood for a good and scary horror movie, seek out  The Sentinel .

Even when I hear the name, The Sentinal, I get goosebumps.  Very cool scary movie, definately one of my favorites.  I have never read the book before, I'm going to check that out.  RIght now I'm reading a book called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  It's a book written in the style of Jane Austen and has the story of Pride and Predjudice but with attacking zombies and the girls are strong and have great zombie fighting skills.  A very fun book.

It's great to hear from you June!  I've been missing you for a while.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised about that book you are reading.  There has been a HUGE explosion in interest in zombies in the last several years.  I think someone has at this point created a work in just about every medium and every genre focusing on zombies in the last couple years.  Not that zombie stories were ever un popular, but do you have any speculation about what has been recently generating such a huge growth in interest about such stories?
