Looking for a horror movie
Hi guys, i'm looking for a horro movie from late 80's - 90's i guess. I've seen it on TV like 10 years ago, but i didn't got it from the begining.
The movie starts with a daughter (i think) comming home to a little town where is greeted by her mother, the go by car to the town but they can see anyone. After they go looking through houses they see that almost everybody is dead or dissaperead or something. But they find some people and go hide at the police hq or something like that. I can't remember any more details about that part, but afterwards it's revealed that an entity live under the city, or something like that, and they wait for a SWAT team, and near the end all the people appear in the center of the town.
Sorry for the spelling mistake and for the writing style. So anybody have a clue? i really really apreciate it:)

It sounds to me that the movie you are looking for is Phantoms from 1998. Not a bad movie that was set and filmed right here, in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains ... It starred Peter O'Toole and a couple of very popular young actors who I can't remember their names ... Pretty creepy story and some relatively good gore fx amount to a pretty good movie in my books....
Please let me know if that's the movie you're looking for. If not I will try to find it.

Re:Looking for a horror movie
I didn't want to post this on the REGULAR Discussion in the other group Find me a Movie, because all the horror experts are right here.
Does this movie sound familiar at all to anyone: I'm pretty sure it was a movie from the 1970s. For years I thought this certain scene was in the movie Don't Look Now but when I watched it again, it wasn't there. I think it's the same "tone" as Don't look Now or The Haunting of Julia, etc. But I remember it was a very spooky movie and they were holding a seance or having some sort of slide show when all of a sudden a little girls arm or a wax cast of a little girls arm shows up in the fish tank. They made it so everyone would jump at that moment. Does that scene ring any bells with anyone? Or did I just dream it.

I remeber that same movie, June, but I cannot remember what it was called. I will try to find it for us...

Re:Looking for a horror movie
Thanks Gor, it was probably a very lame movie, but I was probably around 12 or 13 years old when I saw it and I remember how much it scared me. What made me think of it again was...I had thought for years it was Don't Look Now, but a couple of years ago I had seen that again and realized it wasn't that movie. So after that I thought it was the Haunting of Julia and just watched it again the other day and realized it wasn't that either. I thought by now I have seen all the scary 1970s movies and it's really making me curious as to what that movie was. I even thought Sutherland was in it but now I don't think so. I ought to look on all of his old movies in IMDB.com to see if there is anything there, just in case.
Thanks Doc, if it pops up in your memory, let me know. ;0)

Actually, June, while having this conversation with you something popped up but it wasn't my memory. I don't think Donald Sutherland was in this movie. When you mentioned a floating, severed arm in the fish tank either during or after a seance it set off alarm bells in my head. I have seen this movie and I was a little kid when I saw it which tells me that this was a 1960's "Z-Grade" horror film that I thought was pretty bad even at that young age. Apparently that is something I tried to erase from my memory because it was so terrible. But now my curiosity is piqued and I will try to find this movie...
