Hmmm, maybe you are trying to cast against type, but I would expect if those two actors were cast in those roles it would be Vaughn as Venkman and Wilson as Stantz.  No?

Cusack is a squink of the highest echelon, the kind of guy Bill Murray outmans in his movies! I think Cusack is more naturally the  Walter Peck  type.
