APPALOOSA DVD Giveaway

We're giving away Appaloosa DVD's.
Here's how you could wrangle a copy:
Tell us a western movie you'd like to see remade and why.
EXAMPLE: The Searchers. Great movie, but it's offensive toward Native Americans. You can write more if you want, but any more than that's just barkin' at a knot.
We'll announce the winners on 1/19, so check back to see if you've won.
Watch the Appaloosa trailer.
In Marshal Cole and deputy Hitch's line of work, you shoot quick, you shoot clean, and you reload straightaway. Feelings get you killed. Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen stand together as longtime friends and for-hire peacekeepers in this character-driven, bullet-hard Western. Blood will spill in the town called Appaloosa. Own it on Blu-ray® and DVD 1-13-09!
Appaloosa © 2008 New Line Productions, Inc. and Axon Film Finance I, LLC, Inc. Package Design & Supplementary Material Compilation © 2009 New Line Productions, Inc. Distributed in the USA by Warner Home Video, 4000 Warner Blvd., Burbank, CA 91522. All rights reserved.

Re:APPALOOSA DVD Giveaway
I'd like to see Treasure of the Sierra Madre remade because it would be a perfect vehicle for Christopher Walken.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Classic Western. Not sure how you recast John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart or replace John Ford, but maybe that's a question for SkyPilot and the recasters. Either way it's a great movie!!!

Re:APPALOOSA DVD Giveaway
For me, the great westerns don't need a remake. It's the bad westerns with promise that should return. Three examples:
Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter - The daughter is played by Narda Onyx. We can do better than Narda! I'm thinking Cate Blanchett.
The Valley of Gwangi - Cowboy sells Tyranosaurus Rex to the Mexican circus. CGI = more Rex!
Paint Your Wagon - I like musical westerns, but Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin doing the singing?

Is that the one where Dr. Frankenstein says "At last I have you, Chesse Chames!"

It's the one where Dr. Maria Frankenstein says, "Hey, is that a gun in your pocket?"

Re:APPALOOSA DVD Giveaway
I don't necessarily WANT to see it, but I'd be curious who would be cast in a remake of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
John Wayne
James Stewart
Lee Marvin
Edmond O'Brien
Andy Devine
All pretty distinctive personalities

Re:APPALOOSA DVD Giveaway
Well, two people have allready stolen my favorite, Liberty Valance idea. I would have to say............. Shane could still make a good remake. I think getting Alan Ladd replaced would be kinda hard. I don't know.. maybe Paul Rudd could be good. They both have names that end with the double d.

Re:APPALOOSA DVD Giveaway
I'm the fourth guy who wants to see The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance remade.
Who would star? How about...

Tom Hanks replaces Jimmy Stewart as the senator.

Mickey Rourke replaces Lee Marvin as the outlaw Liberty.

Harrison Ford replaces John Wayne as the sheriff.
For those of you who haven't seen The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, I highly recommend it. Watch the trailer.
