San Jose Film Festival
I was lucky enough to see DS speak at the San Jose Film Festival. He was being awarded the "Maverick" award for his diversity in roles. At that event, a TV movie was shown that also starred Sissy Spacek - he was on death row, about to be executed and she was, (trying to remember...) an ex-girlfriend? Anyway, it was a bit melodramatic but as always, his acting was amazing. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the film, although I'm sure it's in the imdb.
What surprised me about him in person (I did not meet him - the line was way too long), was that he was very shy and seemed quite humble. You'd never guess he was a famous actor, he had such a nice way about him...
I used to work with a woman who was an extra in City of Hope and said he was one of the nicest guys she'd ever worked with. Good to know!
