Welcome, Please Introduce Yourself
Welcome to the Community Recommendations group.
My name is Ryan, and I go to school and work part time... I'm an East Asian Studies major. I love watching movies, and I like to discuss them as well. Check out my profile if you want to see some of the stuff I've seen.
Please feel free to write a bit about yourself in here, and then check out the other threads, start some of your own, and start asking for recommendations.

Re:Welcome, Please Introduce Yourself
I'm Abby. I've been active on Spout for about a year and a half now, and it's been really fun. I'm also a student, studying Journalism at KU. I review movies for the campus entertainment magazine and for the radio station, where I also DJ. As if I didn't have enough on my plate already, I have a movie review vlog with my friend and radio movie reviewing partner, which can be found here. Here on Spout, I run a group for children's movies.

Re:Welcome, Please Introduce Yourself
Hi. I'm Christi. I love the avatar for this group, because I am pretty crazy about Muppets :) Just ask Ryan, he knows because I torture our family ever Christmas with The Muppet Christmas Carol. There is just something about hand puppets that gets me every time. hehe. Anyway, I love movies, I studied movies in college (because there was nothing better to do, or so it seemed at the time). And now I work for a website, where I use none of what I learned, isn't life hilarious? Oh well, I am always in need of good recommendations, so I will be using this group as much as possible. cheers:)

Re:Welcome, Please Introduce Yourself
I'm Jonathan, 26, enjoy martinis and long walks on the beach... oh uh, wrong site introduction. Ahem. I'm 26, a recent college grad with a degree in Communication Arts and Sciences/Fine Art, and *almost* a minor in English. I'm originally from Chicago, IL, have lived in Texas and currently reside in Michigan. I'm obsessed with pop culture (film, music, lit., etc...), social networking, etc... hence, I feel that I'm among friends here at Spout. I have a couple of jobs, both of which I really enjoy for very different reasons, and manage to keep me very, very busy.
Kudos to Ryan for starting this thread :-)

Re:Welcome, Please Introduce Yourself
Hey Y'all,
I'm Emery, leeroy is a nickname my dad gave me for no apparent reason and it's the only one that ever seemed to stick. I'm 27, I live in beautiful Phoenix, AZ, I am married with 3 little boys. I have a degree in computer electronics.
I have been into film as an art form since high-school. I think Fargo was the first movie I ever saw that opened my eyes to the idea that movies could be more than just entertainment. My interest was permanently sparked and since then, I have delved as far I as I can into foreign, independent and even some mainstream film buffery. The only thing I've learned for certain is that I've still got a lot to learn.
Along the way, I found (like most film buffs) that I enjoy films by certain directors. The Coen Brothers are still my favorites but I've also fallen in love with the films of Jean-Pierre Juenet, Tom Tykwer, and Seijun Suzuki but there are many more that I try to follow as well.
Anywayz, I've found that spout is the perfect site for me. I only have a few freinds that share my love for cinema so I can really appreciate a social network that is devoted to allowing people that share my passion for film to get together.
That's all (for now).
BTW. if anyone's interested, Mercurial and myself host a group called the Weekly Theme and we would love to get some more participation.
I also host Friends of Foreign Flicks and Post Your Playlist.
C'mon in, the water's great.
