Leeroy's da coooolest

That's right!!! 4 out of 5 critics agree. I'm da coolest. And, the one out of five that disagreed was SkyPilot anyways............ he said Gene Shalit's the coolest....................................................... What the hell does he know anyways?!?!?!

So, here's a bit about myself. I'm 27 years old, married, with 3 boys and I live in sunny Phoenix, AZ. It's October 1st and we hit 101 today (that's toasty).

I'm almost as much of a music freak as I am a movie geek and my taste are very vast but usually reside very far away from the FM dial.

"Let's get down to the brass tax......................... How much for the ape?" On to the films......... that's what we're here for isn't it? Similarly to my music taste, I like my movies to be a bit distant from the mainstream.

I love foreign films. I seem to gravitate more towards the European films than the rest but I've also seen my share of Asian cinema. I'm kinda getting into Seijun Suzuki right now. Anything made by Jean-Pierre Juenet or Tom Tykwer is usually good for me. I have also recently been watching a lot more from yesteryear, specifically the 30's. I really like Hitchcock's stuff from that era and have completely fallen in love with Fritz Lang.

In case you haven't figured by now, I'm much more heavy on directors than actors. Specific directors will dictate the experience the audience has with his or her films much more than any other personell on the set. My favorite director is and has been for some time, the two-headed duo known as the Brothers Coen.

The last thing I'll mention is my love affair with great camera-work. I love cinematography. Check out my list of some of my favorite examples of great work here. It is one of the aspects I always touch on in my reviews.

To conclude my extremely self-gratifying rant: I've seen an ass-load of movies. A lot of good, quite a few bad, mostly in the middle and some masterpieces. Let me know what you like and I can probably give you an idea of what else you might like................................. If I can't, I'll just send you over to SkyPilot.

Leeroy, after reading your post I called Gene Shalit and told him you are da coolest.

Shalit replied, "Well you can just find yourself a different barber!"

So I'll have to find a new look.
