My ultimate favorite movies are almost always foreign films. It doesn't matter which country they are from since I believe the foreign film arena is better than the American films. I'm not saying that there aren't any American films worth seeing...just check out how many movies I have seen and you'll know that's the case. I agree with you regarding Sling Blade, as it was a fantastic film, well worth seeing twice. It doesn't matter who is in the film, although I have to admit that there are certain actors that I steer clear of. It would be way too difficult for me to view a movie with someone in it who just makes me cringe. They are very few comedies that I like. Most of them are far too silly for me, so I generally don't watch any of those. My guilty pleasure is my foreign film video collection. If the house catches fire, those films are coming with me. Some particular favorite foreign films: Night of the Shooting Stars, Ikuru, Jules and Jim, A Special Day.
