Anime soundtracks

I just put the Cowboy Bebop first soundtrack album on my ipod.  It's all done by Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts.  It's really great music.

I was wondering if anyone else had some favorite music featured in Anime.  There have been a lot of songs I've enjoyed for the opening and closing credits of some series.  Does anyone know if there is an album out there with compilations of these title songs?

The closing credits song from Air Master is one of my favorites.

I have a couple of the Fullmetal Alchemist soundtracks. The music is really good, but most of it's sooo depressing.

As for favorite openings/closings to series, there are so many good ones. I love all the Fullmetal ones, Catch You Catch Me from Card Captor Sakura, Life is Like a Boat from Bleach, Ride on Shooting Star from FLCL, Lonely in Gorgeous from Paradise Kiss, Sakura Kiss from Ouran Host Club, Cyclone from Romeo X Juliet, Mask from Sorcerer Hunters, and of course many many others, those are just a few I could think of off the top of my head.

I also love the theme songs as well as all the scores from Revolutionary Girl Utena. I'd like to get the soundtrack from that some day, the music is so beautiful.

I absolutely loved the ending song to the movie "X", but it could just be how dramatic the very end of the movie itself actually was that really had a person get into the song.  The short show "Colorful" had some fun funktacular music as it's begin/end music.  Oh yeah, I had fun watching that one with a few friends.  I always liked the music from the "Inuyasha" series, but I bought a soundtract to one of the movies and was disappointed.  I like Jap music as long as there are lyrics.  Of course, I can't understand what they are saying because I'm not that cool, but some of the songs are really beautiful.

Oh, another anime with really good theme songs is Wolf's Rain. The ending one always makes me sad

That's usually the way it is isn't it?  The begining song is usually more exciting and the ending song is more depressing.

Yeah I know what you mean. I've been listening to the sound tracks of the Twelve Kingdoms, aka Juuni Kokki, series. Really good stuff. The artist/composer is Kunihiko Ryu. I also enjoyed the intro to Serial Experiments Lain by a band called Boa. Well as you said there have been many that I have enjoyed. It would be great to get a list going. There is a series called Ergo Proxy that had an awesome intro song, and the ending song was Paranoid Android by Radiohead. Also the soundtrack to Kanon 2006 was great. :) Yoko Kanno is a genius musically. And watanabe-owns. :0
