June 8th: Waterfront Film Festival
This is my plug for my local film festival where many a film has gone onto to the big screen - here, you can be the first to watch these rising films in a grass roots festival as well as commune with other film buffs and enjoy the small beach town of Saugatuck, Michigan. Many independent films are never picked up however, and great, great stories are never told on the big screen - the festival circuit being the only place to catch them. There are also a few big producers and actors that visit each year.
Waterfront is a non profit organization run solely by volunteers -yes I am one! Don't miss Thursday, June 8th to watch the midwest premier of Pittsburgh with Jeff Goldblum and to listen to national artist, Emerson Hart (formally of Tonic) in the beer gardens created by closing off Water Street. It's all free save the beer, a great party, a great crowd, and a great town. Check it out here: www.waterfrontfilm.org Send me a note if you'd like more information on "how to" Waterfront. If you travel great distances for film festivals like myself, consider adding this one to your list.
