34 million widows live in exclusion in India today
This movie is remarkably done in script, story, acting, cinemaphotography, emotion.. it's still swirling in my head the unjust life of many widows *still* in India today. This film was part of a summer documentary series at a local theatre, however this film was shot more like drama. It is so tragically beautiful. I highly recommend this film.

i love this movie as well;Have you seen the trilogy of movies made by the director of water,Deepa metha Fire ,Earth, and of course Water; I have seen all three and i recommend watching Earth (1998) , i believe it is the best if the three;Earth is about how different cultures/religions(Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Parsees, even a Christian )are affected when the british pulled out of India in 1947;The story as told by a young, brace legged, eight year old Parsee girl point of view
