Billy Baldwin
This movie is great just for the simple fact that Billy Baldwin was given such a challenging role. (Yah right) I love the fact there is great dialogue in the whole movie and all Billy's character (Ivan) says is "
alright brother".
Makes you wonder if this simpleton character was written for Balwin or " 'ol Billy" sought it out.

Re: Billy Baldwin
I kind of forgot he was in the movie actually. Despite it's disturbing scenes with the youngest son wiping down lockers and library books with… ugh, I can't even write it. Now, I'm all flustered. Uh, I thought this film was a great insight into the lives of families experiencing the trauma of divorce; esp. the vantage point of the kids. And Jeff Daniels was splendid, even if I hated his self-inflated, needy, character. Alright brother?

Re: Billy Baldwin
I'm pretty smitten with the guy on "Lost" who says "Alright, Brother" about every other line. Melty knees me.
But here, it's funny, because it's weird urban hippie with no accent. I love it, and love when the kid starts saying it. That's too real, when your kid starts picking up mannerisms from the "other" family.
