The Scavenger Hunt: Thumbs up or thumbs down?

So, we launched a fun little scavenger hunt contest on Spout last week and I wanted to know what ya'll thought about it. Did you do it? Why or why not? If you did, what did you like? dislike? Etc. Any ideas for similar kinds of activities on Spout?

You can play it here if you haven't seen it yet.

Yeah, I thought it was a lot of fun. I'm already obsessed with Spout and it gave me something more to do than scour movies, groups and the usual whatnot. Next time, make something a little more difficult. Since the majority of people on Spout have seen a significant amount of movies and spend a decent amount of time around them, go all out and create something scary hard that will be more challenging for us cinephiles.

Well I don't think the point of it was to make it be challenging, but it was more of a tutorial to introduce newbies to all of the features of Spout.  Am I right or wrong?

I agree. At least I think it should be a little more focused and use actual movie trivia.

Yeah you're right. It was a fun, easy way to get new members to explore Spout.

As for suggestions for future incentives, I think an intense, hardcore version would be a lot of fun for current members who already know and love the site and want a fun little distraction from the norm.

Riss,

You're perceptive. We did design it as a tutorial of sorts, to increase familiarity. I would like to see it become more trivia oriented though so that it's fun for movie lovers and also informative for new Spout users.

I like "scary hard." It makes me feel like a detective.

It was okay, it only took like five minutes, so I can't really say it was "fun" = /

Now if I happen to win... then I will say it was the funnest thing ever XD

I agree that a more difficult scavanger hunt where it doesn't tell you exactly what to type in or what movie to click could be pretty amusing though.

Lol. Yeah, if you win, the ends justify the means. We are cooking up another hunt that is sure to challenge even the most avid movie watcher. You will have to let me know what you think of it when it launches.

Does anyone have ideas for scavenger hunts? Thematic? Certain kinds of prizes? just curious what you think.
