Are there any women directing?

Hey everyone, I love the site and I'm happy to learn about up-and-coming filmmakers in this group but how come all the featured emerging filmmakers are men? Is this going to be a trend?

Dorolicious,  the men to women filmmaker ratio has always, unfortunately, leaned heavily to the males (I don't know why). But I am really excited to see Yeast, made by Mary Bronstein from Butterknife. It will premier at SXSW two weeks from now. I plan on interviewing Mary there and featuring her in this group once we've got some more content to share with people about her. From what I've heard, the movie is really something.  Watch the trailer

I'll also have my eye out for other emerging women filmmakers there.

Another woman director at SXSW 08 is Greta Gerwig, who co-directed Nights and Weekends with Joe Swanberg. Her acting in the film is also phenomenal.
