Chuck Palahniuk



I think it would be a safe assumption to say that everyone liked Fight Club (or atleast they would have if they hadnt had the ending ruined by about a million people then watch it be played done over and over again). well Chuck Palahniuk the author of the original book has another one of his novels turned into film. the book is Choke and the cast looks pretty impressive (Same Rockwell, Anjelica Huston, Brad William Henke and directed by first time director Clark Gregg, i know it appeared at sundance but i dont know how well it did. i love Chuck Palahniuk and this book was awesome so i hope they didnt screw up one of the most delightfully disturbing books of the past few years.

First of all, I think it's cool that we have similar screen names.

Second of all: I've been hearing some pretty good things about "Choke" the movie. In fact, I think it was mentioned during one of the filmcouch dispatches from Sundance. I haven't read the book, but I've been meaning to for some time. I'm a fan of Palahniuk's work, and I'm thrilled they're making another movie based on one of his novels. HIs writing is out of this world. Really. Anyway, I really hope it turns out to be successful.

Yea choke is an amazing book, one of his most disturbing and twisted books but still exccellant. Ive looked at the imdb page and the cast looks good.

You know, Abby, when I saw the screen name, I thought Andrew was your brother.

Palahniuk is actually one of my favorite authors working today. I often get tired of his gimmicky style, but I always enjoy the end results. Choke was good, and I look forward to the movie. I'll probably reread the book beforehand, since most of his stuff can be read pretty quickly. My favorite Palahniuk book will never be made into a movie; Lullaby. I went to a reading of his and he pretty much admitted Lullaby was the only one of his books not optioned, and he theorized it was because of all the crib death. I don't know why I do these things to myself, but I read Lullaby on a plane about a month after my daughter was born.... I couldn't wait to get home.
