Alfred HItchcock Named Greatest Director
There are a lot of great directors out there, but Alfred Hitchcock has been named #1 in an online poll. Hitchcock beat out Scorcese, Francis Ford Coppola and Stanley Kubrick to name a few. I'm not sure if I would have picked Hitchcock as the all time greatest, but I will say that I enjoyed his films. One of the things that he was very good at was taking a single murder and turning it into a very intense event. In today's movies, you need a high body count to creator that kind of tension, but Hitchcock could do it with just a single death and no special effects.
