Re:Top Family-Friendly/Childrens Movies of '07
I feel a little unqualified to judge, because I've seen so few of the family films out there. I really do want to see both Enchanted and Stardust, and both are on my list. I enjoyed Ratatouille more on home video, but I'm willing to place the blame on myself for that one. For some reason I was not ecstatic about it in theatres(although I did enjoy it completely). I maybe expected too much, since Iron Giant and Incredibles are absolutely perfect, in my eyes. Harry Potter was fun, of course, although I haven't been stunned by those films since number 3. Here's a couple of my picks, that werent already on your list. The Bridge to Terabithia was a pleasant surprise. Not having read the book I was expecting a straight Narnia ripoff, a quick cash-in on the current family-fantasy trend. The urge to cash-in may have motivated the film, but it blindsided me enough that I really enjoyed myself. I want to say I loved Arthur and the Invisibles, because I'm a big Luc Besson fan, but I haven't seen it all the way through and it looks like such a calculated attempt at throwing in as many fantasy and 'hipster' jokery that I'm not in a huge hurry to finish the film.
