Kubrick is #1
Kubrick is possibly my favorite director of all time. Actually more often I would probably say it's the Coen brothers, but if I did then Kubrick would definitely be a worthy second. And I know the Coens are huge fans of Kubrick's work

Re: Kubrick is #1
Kubrick is one of my favorite directors... I would put him just below William Freidkin! (ever see "Sorcerer" or "The Exorcist" ?) I LOVED "The Shining" and "Clockwork Orange" and "Platoon" and especially "Dr. Strangelove"!

I've only seen one Coen Brother's film, Fargo. I think I've seen Barton Fink, but I'm not sure. They have done quite a few films, haven't they? What have they done, again? Also, what do you think of Get Carter (1971)?

Kubrick didn't do Platoon! He did Full Metal Jacket! But they're both excellent!

2001
The only Kubrick film I wasn't that keen on was 2001: A Space Oddysey. I thought it dragged on too much and was a bit confusing. What do you think?

Get Carter is a real treat! You'll enjoy it! It portrays Brits how a lot of us are actually like. We are not snotty at all! Also, the time in England at the moment is 23:55. I feel dead tired and am going to sleep. I will discuss with you all some more tomorrow!

Re: Risselada
I think I have watched "2001: A Space Odyssey" more than ten times! I LIKE this movie a LOT! But I am still not sure if I 'get it', if you know what I mean! The ending is a little... 'deep' ... I think there is a vague message there and I THINK I get it! not too sure, though...
