Lindsay Lohan

Ok, here it goes......Step 1 person : Lindsay Lohan, Step 2 greatest work:  Probably The Parent Trap, Step 3 gossip:  Well looks like another one finally bit the dust.  I don't think her latest and greatest display surprises anyone.  The new "Brat Pack" has officially become picture perfect for rehabilitation funding targets.  Paris, Britney and now Linsay love their red bull and dipped strawberries delivered in rehab on a silver platter.  Anyone wanna make a wager on if the white powder turns out to be cocaine but "purchased and planted in the mercedes by the guy at the  last car wash".   Ya right!  This latest news is unfortunately just one fleck of sand on the beach of troubled celebrities throughout history.  To be fair and human, she is young and hopefully still has time to straighten herself out.  I guess she was scheduled to start filming  a new movie soon, but with her new rehab stay nobody is sure what will happen.

Re: Lindsay Lohan

although i believe you are right about lindsay, bad rap in the press ,i believe she is more talented than you give her credit for;Her best work is definitely Mean Girls,Secondly ,although a remake like parent trap is Freaky Friday. The rest of the cast you mentioned have no talent or lost it & have not found it back,or and having bigger headlines with scandal but not contributing or even trying to make a talent comeback.Like Britney, simply one bad publicity after another.Doesn't she, at least ,have a good publicist that can tone down this bad press that she is getting????And i though, that after losing that loser husband of his kevin(with even more horrendous talent),that she would get back to business and start doing some albums BUT NO!!more garbage news ,one after the other. At least take care of her family and hire a better publicist and put out a better image for herself.Oh yeah, take some Quality acting lessons because that last movie she made(thank god, only 1 movie)was the worse of the worse. That reminds me that movie Crossroads,i need to put that in my list as sucky movie and put in the group list of definitely the worst movie ever;(bad acting, bad script, b looking budget, everything a movie should not be).;And oh Paris, she is bad company for britney; They are like partners in crime of bad press. The show of hers simplelife was one of my guilty pleasures. But after that ,i have not seen any talent or anything positive from her.

Re: Lindsay Lohan

I hoped not to discredit entirely any particular actress on this post (although privately my discussions may be different).  It seems the critics and press want to blame Lindsay's mother, family, publicist etc. for all that has happened.  I realize she is still officially not 21, which shortly will change.  However, where is her accountability?  It really is frustrating how it seems hollywood seems to reward (not just forgive) individuals for such REPETATIVE offensives against the laws.  To her credit, she still has seemed to hang on to her contracts even though it has been reported that her many instances late or no show to the set for all night escapades that have been made public.  It seems unfair to the many talented individuals who  have been bypassed  and  would die for such casting chances.  This is not really anything new, right????

As for the other two well, I definitely agree with much of your assessment.

Re: Lindsay Lohan

How about young female stars (under 21 yrs. old),that are not quite as famous (negative or positive publicity),at least tabloid wise, and yet a great talent in their own humble way;quality thespian without the fuss;In fact taking taking lesser known roles in variety or even riskier subject matter, which makes them a better thespian.the following are movies that i have seen ,i liked, and recommend(this actresses are under 21 when the movies were made and still under 21 today)

*jena malone- stepmom, confessions of an american girl, dangerous lives of altar boys, saved

*kristen stewart-speak,panic room

*evan rachel wood-the upside of anger, pretty persuasion, thirteen, digging to china

*camille belle-the ballad of jack and rose

*valentina de angelis-off the map

oh yeah,our cute one,just barely a teen(13yrs. old)but i stiil thought i should mention her is(this one is a bit more famous,nothing negative though,at least that i have heard)

*dakota fanning- taken (mini-series)  ,trapped, man on fire, dreamer inspired by a true story, charlottes web

not all that are in the public eye ae hopeless, like britney, paris,etc..;there are great young ones;not to mention,i have not even started in thespians that are over 21 yrs. old now,or legal age and plays younger roles,or awesome  young male actors

Re: Lindsay Lohan

Well -the easy anwer for me is that 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice is my fav for Jena Malone.  Not only is she young, versatile (not bad of an accent in the film) but whe really works hard in her roles. Although she was not in the top character spot, her performance really gave depth to the story line that has been remade SOQ many times.   Joe Wright's commentary on making the film attribute to that.  If I am not mistaken she has had a turbulent family life.  I think I read somewhere she divorced her parents and has not had a huge amount of other family support.

As for Dakota, I think everyone agree she is one to continue watching.  I loved her in I am Sam.  Few children possess the abilities to pull off such great performances, especially on such deep subject matters.  Hopefully someone, family, friends, agents, etc can keep her from going down the "too rich for their own good" childhood actor path and she will not end up in rehab like so many before her.

Cheers!

Re: Lindsay Lohan

Just writing a continuation of my above post.  Well, it looks like Lindsay is attempting to do "some time" in rehab.  All you Linday fans, please don't get angry but.......................it is rumored that she is anxiously awaiting her upcoming big 21st bash in LasVegas (I think that is where I heard) with huge sponsors.  Not the kind of thing to stabilize a person supposedly needing assistance for "excessive use and/or abuse" of alcohol and drugs!  He reps say, "well everyone has heard of alcohol free drinks, right"!!!!  Ya, and I have an island to sell you off the coast of Bermuda.  In this case, I really would wager the rehab stint is the most obvious case of "damage control advice only" I have ever seen.   Sorry guys.  Does anyone know why she supposedly got on the oxycodone anyways at age 20 with no significant accident, surgery, congenital deformity etc (gas pain or what)?   I better stop, I am getting harsh.

Re: Lindsay Lohan

A friend of mine in Hollywood saw Lindsay the other day and said that her youth is just about all gone. Looking pretty ragged around the edges.

You can buy oxy over the counter on the other side of the border and it's an easy drug to get hooked on, no reason needed.
