Person: Angelina Jolie, Greatest Work: For some reason, I haven't seen many of her movies.  Some of the more heavily advertised are Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, The Good Shepard.  She has at least 4-5 in pre and post production phases currently, Gossip: The latest news is that Angelina has been visiting to a catholic orphanage, and is growing attached to a young boy from the Czech Republic.  Brad reportedly flew to Prague (also where Angelina is filming her latest film Wanted) to meet the boy.  This would be the couples fourth adoption, fifth child.  Angelina just celebrated her 32nd birthday recently and apparently is feeling the maternal urge once again.  My personal opinion is that for all these children's sake, I hope and pray that the Jolie-Pitt family unit will give these children some stability.  Angelina (and Brad) have certainly had some "negative" time in the tabloids that would not be the greatest example or influence on children if they were to revert to "their old ways" per say.  But currently, it seems all is well in the ever growing clan.

Please advise on which Jolie film is the best and why.  Or for all you Brad Pitt fans, what do you think is his best?  The latest Ocean's Thirteen is getting quite a lot of hipe/advertising time these days.

Yes, I hope those children will be extremely fortunate and grow up with a lot of love (either from them or their nannies...lol).  It seems they really love their children and the kids always seem happy when you see pictures of them, so I hope they will grow up well adjusted.

You know, I have to say my favorite Angelina Jolie movie is Original Sin with Antonio Bandares (it might have been because of him) but I really thought it was a good movie.  Lara Kroft Tomb Raider was a pretty fun movie as well as Mr. and Mrs. Smith too.

Brad Pitt - sigh, I just love looking at him.  I think he was good in Meet Joe Black and of course A River Runs Through it...

Re: angelina jolie

By quick count, I've seen 9 of Angelina's movies. She's never been high on my list of favorite stars, but I have seen (guilty pleasures) the Laura Croft movies and Mr. and Mrs. Smith twice. Haven't seen Original Sin; have to do so.

I applaud her involvement in real-world issues. The more of that, the better, it seems to me.

I've always liked Jon Voight, so immediately I'm going to be inclined to like his daughter.

I used to be totally distracted by those lips. I just assumed she overdid it with the collagen. But then I saw a picture of her as a child and there were those lips, so they're not an issue for me anymore.

Their family does seem to be expanding so quickly.  Obviously, it is not a money issue, but hopefully when these children who have endured various levels of difficulties need special attention (and rock hard dedication), these parents will be there for them.  I do hope Angelina's dedication will last for as long as they need her.  I do agree, at times it seems she is manic.  She has been reportedly suicidal (self described) many times in the not so distant past.  It is almost as though she is trying to make up for something, or fill some void.  She definitely is also rapidly picking up films as well.  As I stated, she sure has a lot on her plate the next 1-2 years.

Re: angelina jolie

I haven't heard lately if Angelina and her dad are getting along.  They did have some very public rifts.  He tried extremely hard to patch things up, and reported wishing her well with her earliest adoption.  She seemed to distance herself even more, stating he needed to be private.  I also like Voight's work.  I thought he was exceptional in the TV film, Pope John Paul II.  I aso liked him in the films Enemy of the State, Anaconda, Pearl Harbor.

The last I heard, they still hadn't talked since 2004 and more blame him than her, but that's just gossip. I also heard that she quit eating when her mother died of cancer in January, and I have seen some pictures of her looking thin (in a not-good way).

When I think of Jon Voight as a star, I picture him back when he was young, in Midnight Cowboy and Deliverance and Conrack. When I think of him as a little nuts, it's in Runaway Train, which I mean to watch again sometime soon.

I wonder what the reviews of his new movie Transformers, release date July 3rd, will be.  The initial press release seems to yield positive reviews.  I think I saw Spielberg's name on the preview?  Not entirely sure.

Angelina's A Mighty Heart , release date June 22, has already spurred some political debate.  There is feedback from people circulating around ranging from "Angelina's accent is great"- to "I don't feel bad for self acclaimed crusader Daniel Pearl" comments- to "We should stay out of the middle east" debates.  Yikes!

I saw a picture of her taken from the movie today. She looked totally different.

Today's Slate podcast is about her celebrity profile in Esquire this month. (http://www.slate.com/id/2168707/nav/tap3/):

The Worst Celebrity Profile Ever Written?Angelina Jolie, "the best woman in the world."

Short version: Dude, she's a celebrity, not Mother Teresa.

But you know, with this latest idea of her staff that publicists should  sign a contract before interviewing her - it's turning the whole celebrity thing on it's head (celebrities need the press or they aren't celebrities anymore). She has apologized but she has still banned a couple of publications from her tour for her new movie. If she keeps this up, we'll start to see more and more negativity in published stories about her.

But she does have Colin Powell sticking up for her now...

A guy told me today that Angelina has extremely long arms, spidery. I looked on the web and in this pic her arms do look kind of long. http://forum.souliejolie.com/index.php?showtopic=22668

A very nice review of Angelina's latest movie in the New Yorker this week, by Anthony Lane. Front-page billing on the magazine's website: http://www.newyorker.com/.

[later] ...and the Oscar buzz is already starting...

[later] ... The latest FilmCouch is about 50% Angelina.
