Re: Goriest Zombie Scene's
*flexes fingers, cracks knuckles* Worthy contenders, all vying for the top spot (rated off the scale on http://bloodgutsandgore.com, are: "The Body Purging" from City of the Living Dead, the scene in the car where the young girl literally pukes her guts out. Seriously twisted and stomach-churning stuff. "Blood Orgy" and "Way Off the Scale" from Darkness. The first is a jaw-dropper where a horde of vampires besets a young man and bleed him like a stuck pig. The second is the end sequence which seems to go on forever in which every bloodsucker gets caught up in the frenzy and forgets to duck inside before it gets light. They all, every one them, melts, blows up, seeps, comes apart and otherwise self-destructs. "Far and Wide" from Day of the Dead [O]. Poor Captain Rhodes gets ripped to pieces and strewn about the place, muched on like a party platter. "Party's Over" and "Fifty Gallons of Gore" from Dead Alive. The first is the singularly memorable, incomparable sequence where our hero uses, of all implements, a lawnmower to dice up, liquefy and brutally dismember several dozen of the undead. "Fifty Gallons" is the godawful closing sequence wherein the discomfortingly obese and uniquely unattractive Mother breaks open like a water balloon, a flood of blood washing down the roof like a dam burst. No movie will ever come close. "Gory Swan Song" from The Evil Dead. To keep it short (visit my site for the full version), the entire cast of characters by this time, except for Ash, simply goes straight to hell and in a really messy way. "Zombie Killin' Blitz" from House of the Dead. I know what everybody says about this and Uwe Boll in general, but I think even they would have to admit that this sequence is raw. Several dozen (by no means whatsoever all) of the undead are gunned down, cut up, blown apart, etc. "An Outdoor Massacre" from Plaga Zombie and "The Order to Attack" from its sequel Mutant Zone. Both of them are barbarous, ruthless onslaughts on the living and the dead resulting in much blood (red, white, green and several other colors) and various body parts spread about.
