Re memory movies, I was thinking about movies that start with an incredibly old geezer or geezerette thinking back... like Dustin Hoffman in Little Big Man and Emilio Estevez in Young Guns. There must be more. The Flashman books are like that, but I don't recall any Flashman movies...

Oh sorry. I was just responding to the post. Surprised it didn't make your top 5.

Come to think of it, this could easily qualify as th Charles Foster Kane Memorial Memory List. Like Rashomon we're dealing with the fragile and personal nature of memory when talking about one man. But alas, Citizen Kane has it's own golden locker in the penalty box.

It really did make my Top 5. It makes sense if you listen to the show. Also, I never list all of our picks in the post. Aren't there only like 6-7 movies listed?

Where would they be listed? Yeah sorry I would like to hear the show, but the only time I get on Spout is when I'm at work. And I can't put the audio on here on my computer, so it just doesn't work out unfortunately. There's been some good discussion on your group though so that's why I come here, even though I can't heard the podcast. I used to listen to the Film Couch podcast too, but missed some and couldn't get caught up and just don't have the time. I get a little frustrated listening to podcasts like that too becuase I want to dialogue, but I can't talk back! I guess that's what these groups are for though huh? Maybe if you could propose some more specific discussion questions and give a bit of an outline of some of your opinions on the discussion board here. Just a suggestion.

I was surprised that History of Violence was mentioned in this weeks recap of the top 5 memories, but not Spider. I love History of Violence dearly, but i think Spider does a much better job of tackling the subject. i think i also would've chosen sans soleil, over marker's la jetee. same general argument.

Do you own an iPod? Just curious... I assume you would just download shows there if you did, but thought I'd ask. You said you didn't see Rashomon on my 'list' ... I assumed you meant the post that started this thread where I listed some of our choices. But I always only list a few of them. Other than listening to our show, there are two places you can see our lists. You'l see Rashomon listed in both places. 1. Here at Spout, should be accessible through this group. http://www.spout.com/groups/304/grouplists.aspx 2. On our site - http://filmspotting.net/top5.htm Cronenberg note: Sadly, I have not seen Spider.
