Robin Williams..really versatile?
can u guys suggest me a good versatile list of robin williams films? i was just wondering if he is really able to portray himself out of his typical semi comedy characters...he played most of the characters they may vary in occopation or situation but does they really prove his versatility as an actor as all of them must have the common criteria ... REAL LIFE HUMOUR..i want the name of the films where he tried to do something different other than he usually does...

What exactly do you mean by "REAL LIFE HUMOR"? And are you saying this is something that Robin does portray? Or something you think he should portray?

Not exactly. OK, so you don't think Jim Carrey does "real life humor". Do you have an example of some movie that does have "real life humor"? I'm not exactly sure what you see as the difference between comedy and humor either. I thought the words were nearly synonyms.

Re: Robin Williams..really versatile?
Comedy 1.A dramatic work that is light and often humorous or satirical in tone and that usually contains a happy resolution of the thematic conflict. Humour 1.The quality that makes something laughable or amusing; funniness: could not see the humor of the situation. its not my deffinition! took it from a dictionary..but yes u are right in a sense that they are in a long run reflects similarity in their genre. what jim does is creating a scene so that he can act within it but robin adopts himself in any scene! off course its entirely my opinion. and both of them are master in their field! Most of the Robin williams films have real life humour..from good morning vietnam to RV

Re: Robin Williams..really versatile?
So you are looking for a film that has humorous elements but would probably not be classified as a comedy?

Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting maybe? I actually like What Dreams May Come fairly well too.

Re: Robin Williams..really versatile?
how about The World According to Garp (1982) and does Patch Adams (1998) or Being Human (1993) count? and there was a litle bit of comedy on robin williams character in House of D (2004), ;this movie is actually a good /different change of character to what robin williams usually plays
