Let's Talk about Horror Action Movies
One of my favorite horror action movies has to be Resident Evil 1 & 2, but after seeing the Descent, that is pretty high up there on my list now too. Let's see, I think Aliens would rank as an action movie as well as Predator, I also loved Alien vs Predator. I don't think Freddy vs. Jason would be considered that much of an action movie but it comes kind of close. I tell you the car chase scenes in Jeepers Creepers were really heart pounding (but I really don't think I would call that an action movie either...but there was quite a bit in it). What are some other action movies that scared you?

How about one you just named in the CinLit forum? Jurassic Park. Underworld is basically an action movie with a lot of the traditional horror monster characters and lore updated for an urban action style.

I have to say that I loved Spielbergs Jurassic Park when it first came out. I watched it six times in the movie theater.... and for some reason I always came out starving and craving red meat--- I swear not even a j/k

I have not yet seen "The Descent" , but I am intending to! Yes, June! I think that ALL of the movies you listed count as 'Horror/Action'! I call them 'Action/Adventure/Horror' so that I might fit a few more films under that 'umbrella'! Movies like "Jurassic Park" and "Deliverance" and "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen" ( bet you did not think I could spell that, huh ROBERT? ... Twice, even! ...) I only JUST saw "Alien vs Predator" and I LOVED it! I liked this one BETTER than "Freddy vs Jason"! For a good dose of 'Action/Adventure/Horror' try Sam Raimi's FIRST movie (!) ... "Thou Shalt Not Kill... Except"

Re: Let's Talk about Horror Action Movies
Alien vs Predator was so much fun. I absolutely loved the part when the Alien jumped onto the Predator for the first time. That was really cool. The ending was pretty great too (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT - Please turn away if you have not seen it yet) I will put it down a few spaces so your eyes won't look at it too fast if you don't want to see what happens in the end: Anyway, I was hoping that Italian Archeologist would have lived too (I wanted a semi happy ending) but when that whole huge ship materialized right in front of her (that would be the time I would have crapped my pants if I was her) but anyway, it was very action packed and it's one of those movies I can watch over and over again and not get tired of it.
